ANGANWADI STAFF SUS­PEND STIR ON CM’S AS­SUR­ANCE

AM­RIT­SAR: Anganwadi work­ers sus­pended the statewide stir against the Pun­jab gov­ern­ment on Thurs­day af­ter the chief min­is­ter as­sured to look into their de­mands af­ter the Shahkot by­elec­tion is over. This was dis­closed by ed­u­ca­tion min­is­ter OP Soni here. Rep­re­sen­ta­tives of the All Pun­jab Anganwadi Mu­la­jam Union met chief min­is­ter Cap­tain Amarinder Singh on the side­lines of a statelevel func­tion or­gan­ised here to launch the sec­ond phase of the drug abuse preven­tion of­fi­cers (DAPO) pro­gramme at Tarn Taran where Amarinder Singh gave them teh as­sur­ance, Soni said. Pres­i­dent of the Anganwadi Work­ers Union Har­gob­ind Kaur said they have agreed to sus­pend the stir till the by­elec­tion process ends on the as­sur­ance of the CM.
