The Kar­nataka gov­er­nor’s in­vi­ta­tion to the BJP to form gov­ern­ment in spite of hav­ing fewer mem­bers to prove ma­jor­ity was well ex­pected. This de­ci­sion has again high­lighted the du­bi­ous role the gov­er­nors play when it comes to fol­low the rule­book but they of­ten fol­low the dik­tats of the gov­ern­ment at the Cen­tre. The gov­er­nor’s post must be abol­ished as they have no sig­nif­i­cant
