GURUGRAM: The Haryana Special Task force (STF) arrested two suspected drug peddlers, both Nigerian nationals, on Friday from National Highway-48 near Iffco Chowk. They allegedly supplied heroin to different clubs/ pub/bars in Gurugram, Haryana, and Punjab, investigators said.

According to STF officials, they seized over 1kg of heroin from their rented room, valued at ₹5 crore in the international market. A case was registered under NDPS Act at Sector 18 police station, Gurugram, police said.

The accused were identified as UC Okolie (40) and Yoco Kouadio (32). They had been living in a rented room at Uttam Nagar in Delhi for the last one year, police said.

The STF officials said Okolie was the kingpin of the gang and had been operating from southwest Delhi for the last three years. He had allegedly formed a gang of 11 members who used to supply drugs to different districts of Haryana, including Gurugram.

“He used to sell two-three kilograms of heroin a month. The drugs were routed through Mexico, Peru, and Norway and later, he used to supply them to the areas as per the demand,” Sonu Malik, inspector, STF Bahadurgarh, said.

However, one of their gang members was arrested last month, police said, adding that he had revealed the name of the members involved in drug peddling and the areas where they supplied in the last one year.htc
