AMRITSAR: Air Asia inaugurated the direct flight from Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), here.
Operated by Airasia’s affiliate, Airasia X, flight D7188, departed from Kuala Lumpur and landed at Amritsar airport (at 10.20pm) on Thursday night.
The return service departed from Amritsar at 11.45 pm on Thursday night and arrived in Kuala Lumpur at 8.05 am, here on Friday morning.
Punjab local bodies and tourism minister Navjot Singh Sidhu was chief guest during the occasion.“the move will boost the economy of Punjab and tourism in Amritsar,” said Sidhu.

The flight will be operational on four days a week including, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday.
