21-year-old booked for molesting minor

GURUGRAM: A 21-year-old man was booked on Friday for allegedly molesting a six-year-old girl in his neighbourh­ood in a village of Manesar.

The incident took place on Friday when the accused lured the minor into his house on the pretext of buying her chocolates, and then allegedly molested her.the accused was identified as Anil Kumar, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, who had been living in the area for the past two years, the police said, adding that the man worked in a private company as a daily wage earner.

Mother of the minor saw the accused taking her towards an isolated place and raised an alarm following which he left the girl and fled from the spot, the police said.

Later, the minor girl informed her mother that the accused had touched her inappropri­ately and allegedly kissed her as well, the police said. In the complaint registered at the women’s police station in Manesar, the victim’s mother stated that when she and the locals ran towards the accused, he fled from the spot. Since then, the accused has not returned to his rented accommodat­ion. SHO Kanta Yadav said, “We are conducting raids at different place for the arrest of the accused.”

Victim’s family called the PCR, following which the police sent its officers to the spot. Accused was booked under Section 8 of the POCSO Act.
