Fresh case of turtle smuggling, 3 arrested
DEHRADUN : With the arrest of three people from Ramnagar chowk in Roorkee this week, another case of turtle smuggling in the state has come to light. On October 16, officials at the Gangnahar police station conducted a checking drive at the forest areas of Roorkee, based on a tip-off that turtles were being smuggled. “Our team checked every vehicle passing through that area, and found two turtles from a car which was on its way to Roorkee from Laksar,” said Ranjeet Tomar, senior sub-inspector at the Gangnahar police station.
