GUWAHATI: A 70-year-old lawyer in Assam’s Darrang district committed suicide on Sunday allegedly upset over his name not figuring in NRC complete draft, police said. On Sunday morning, Nirod Baran Das, who was practising as a lawyer at Mangaldai court after retiring from a local school in Kharupetia in Darrang district, was found hanging in his house, according to the district police.
