MUMBAI:FROM being a part of a historic Ashes series win to turning to professional boxing and also being a broadcaster, former England captain Andrew Flintoff has had a career which many would only envy.
Flintoff has enjoyed fan following from around the world. Fondly known as ‘Freddie’, for his burly figure and indomitable presence which reminded the world of the famous cartoon character ‘Fred Flintstone’ from the show ‘Flintstones’, the English cricketer has also been in news for wrong reasons.
He was stripped from England’s vice-captaincy in their World Cup campaign in 2007 and handed one-match ban for a drunken episode at 4am in a pedhowalo in the West Indies. ever, post his retirement in 2012, Flintoff has donned many hats, and among the latest ones is of an analyst at the famous ‘Top Gear’ TV show based on cars on the BBC.
According to the BBC, Flintoff will take over from famous actor Matt Leblanc, while teaming up with TV host Paddy Mcguinness to host the next season of the Top Gear.
The new pair will be joining race driver Chris Harris in the presenting line-up, informed The

“It’s not often you have the chance to do both of your dream jobs, but I’m now lucky enough to say I will have. I’ve always been passionate about cars and I’m so excited to be joining the Top Gear team,” said 40-year-old Flintoff, who played 79 Tests, 141 ODIS and seven T20IS for England. Flintoff has been on TV quite regularly, both in the UK as well as in Australia. He has taken part in sport challenges on TV, and has even made a docu‘flintoff: mentary titled Lord of the Fries’ driving around the country while selling fish and
