20yrold man commits suicide, girl, kin booked on abetment charges
AMRITSAR : Police booked four people on Saturday in a suicide case of a 20-year-old boy.
The accused are Gagandeep Kaur, her brothers Gursaib Singh and Gurjant Singh and her cousin Ravi Singh of Khasa village. The deceased who has been identified as Ravi Singh aka Prince was a watchman in Khasa market. The deceased’s mother Harjit Kaur filed a complaint alleging abetment to suicide.
Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Narinder Singh of Gharinda police station said, “After conducting the deceased’s postmortem, his body has been handed over to his family members.”
Police have registered a case under Sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 109 (punishment of abetment if the act abetted is committed in consequence and where no express provision is made for its punishment) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) .
