Singh Sukhu was hopeful of leading the party till the
2019 Lok Sabha elections, but he was replaced suddenly by Kuldeep
Singh Rathore.
Despite the Congress high command naming the new state unit chief, Sukhu quickly announced new block units for Shimla urban giving command to Rajya Sabha member Anand Sharma’s loyalist Pradeep Singh Bhujja. He then also announced new block units for Palampur and for Hamirpur. The move has not gone well with Rathore.
