SHIMLA :A 12-year-old stu­dent of Class 8, Vaib­hav, com­mit­ted sui­cide in Si­hunta sub-tehsil of Chamba dis­trict in Himachal Pradesh on Sun­day by hang­ing him­self from the ceil­ing fan in his house.

The vic­tim’s fa­ther, Jagdish Raj, runs a Dhaba in Si­hunta and the fam­ily lives in a rented house.

Jagdish, who was present in the house at the time of the sui­cide, rushed his son to the pri­mary health cen­tre in Samot after he found him hang­ing. The doc­tors pro­nounced him brought dead.

No sui­cide note was re­cov­ered from the spot. The po­lice launched an in­quiry un­der Sec­tion 174 of Code of Crim­i­nal Pro­ce­dure to probe death.

“The boy was upset be­cause he wished to go some­where else for sat­sang in­stead of where his mother was tak­ing him to. The body has been sent for post­mortem to Dr Ra­jen­dra Prasad Gov­ern­ment Med­i­cal Col­lege in Tanda of Kan­gra dis­trict ,” said sta­tion house of­fi­cer of Chowari, Jatin­der Ku­mar Choud­hary.
