‘State govt to fill vacant posts of doctors in Chamba medical college’

SHIMLA: The state government will soon start the process to fill up posts of doctors vacant in the Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College in Chamba, health minister Bipin Singh Parmar said in the state assembly on Friday.

He was replying to a question raised by Dalhousie legislator Asha Kumari. Leader of opposition Mukesh Agnihotri asked the question in absence of Kumari in the House.

Parmar said the government has granted permission to fill up 55 vacant posts of doctors in the medical college and interviews for it will be held soon.

The state cabinet had also granted the filling up of 15 posts of assistant professor in a recent meeting and interview for which will be held this month.

He said that the foundation stone of the college building will also be laid soon for which ₹69 crores have been sanctioned.

Earlier, Agnihotri alleged that the government was not running the college properly and around 200 posts of various categories were vacant.
