Exec, uncle assaulted, robbed on expressway

GURUGRAM : A 28-year-old executive and his uncle were allegedly assaulted and robbed of their belongings at gunpoint at Shankar Chowk on Friday night, the police. The incident took place while the executive was returning home from Jaipur to Mukherjee Nagar in Delhi.

According to the police, six men were following them for around 20 minutes before the robbery. When they reached Shankar Chowk, the group intercepte­d their SUV in their Mahindra Xylo, held them at gunpoint, snatched the car keys and brutally assaulted the duo with iron rods and liquor bottles, and broke the side mirror of the car, the police said. The group then pulled the duo out of the car and snatched their mobile phones, wallet and gold chains along with other belongings, the police said.

They forcefully threw them out of the car but could not make off with the vehicle as there was traffic on the expressway. They fled with the executive’s belongings, said police.
