Sidhu to get new of­fice in Am­rit­sar civic body com­plex

AM­RIT­SAR: Pun­jab lo­cal gov­ern­ment min­is­ter Navjot Singh Sidhu is all set to get a new of­fice in­side Am­rit­sar Mu­nic­i­pal Cor­po­ra­tion (MC) com­plex.

The min­is­ter had ear­lier set up his camp of­fice in Am­rit­sar Im­prove­ment Trust (AIT) build­ing in March 2017. How­ever, as the min­is­ter rarely vis­ited this of­fice, it was shut down within few months.

Con­firm­ing the de­vel­op­ment, MC com­mis­sioner Son­ali Giri said, “We have re­ceived or­ders to build an of­fice for the lo­cal gov­ern­ment min­is­ter, his rep­re­sen­ta­tive and of­fi­cer on spe­cial duty (OSD). Al­most 70% of work has been com­pleted. A to­tal cost of ₹1.3 lakh has been spent on set­ting up the of­fice.”

“We will hand over the new of­fice to Navjot Sidhu in next 12 days”, said the com­mis­sioner .

Re­act­ing to the de­vel­opemnt, for­mer lo­cal bod­ies min­is­ter Anil Joshi, said, “Set­ting up a new of­fice is only a waste of money. This time, he should make proper sched­ule and visit of­fice more of­ten.”
