HC refuses to restrain Jaya death probe panel
CHENNAI: The Madras High Court on Monday declined to restrain Justice A Arumugaswamy Commission from probing the adequacy or correctness of the treatment given to late chief minister J Jayalalithaa at the hospital.
The court was hearing the petition filed by Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd to restrain the probe panel from investigating the adequacy or correctness of the treatment given to Jayalalithaa. The Apollo Hospitals contended that the probe panel is going beyond its terms of reference. Jayalalithaa was in Apollo Hospitals here for 75 days in 2016 before she died there due to cardiac arrest on December 5, 2016.
