Transfers: Sisodia targets Lt Governor

-

NEW DELHI: Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday alleged corruption in transfer and postings of officers right “under the nose of” Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal.

He also alleged that the lieutenant governor created hurdles in approving various development schemes such as doorstep delivery of services at the behest of the Central government.

The allegations regarding transfer postings led to a heated argument between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The deputy CM further said transfer postings of officers have become a “business” being run under Baijal’s nose while he chooses to ignore.

“Officers are taking bribe and an industry of transfer and posting is running under the nose of the lieutenant governor,” Sisodia said in reply to Gupta’s allegation and asked him to get such officers arrested by the anti corruption branch that was under the central government led by his party.

The remarks on transfer postings came after the leader of opposition Vijender Gupta demanded a white paper on Baijal’s speech alleging that L-G was “forced” to say whatever he spoke during his address on Friday.

“A white paper must be brought out to reveal the truth behind the lieutenant governor’s speech. It appeared as if his speech was written by the deputy CM and he was forced not to change even a comma. Several facts in his speech do not match the reality on the ground,” Gupta said.
