Naina: Unmarried PM, CM can’t understand women issues

ROHTAK : Naina Chautala, Dabwali MLA and daughter-in-law of former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala, on Monday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, saying both could not understand women’s issues as they did not have a wife.

Addressing a women’s gathering as part of her ‘Hari Chunari ki chaupal’ programme in Rohtak’s Kiloi village, Naina lambasted the government for the alarming rise in crimes against women and said that the state was increasingly becoming unsafe. “There is a spurt in crimes against women and the BJP government which gave the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ slogan has severely dented Haryana’s image in the country. It has failed to implement anything. Neither are girls being saved nor are they being taught,” she said.

Taking on former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on his home turf Kiloi, Naina said he had failed to do anything for his constituency.

“In his 10-year regime as chief minister, Hooda could not manage to provide basic facilities to the people due to which they have been suffering a lot,” she said.

The Dabwali MLA further said that her party Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) would bring strict laws, harsh punishments, hi-tech police administration and modern policies to curb crime against women and make them feel safe in the society.

She added that JJP would bring down the age criteria of old age pension to 55 and the pension amount would be disbursed regularly as they were being given during the regime of Chaudhari Devi Lal.

“JJP would reserve 75% jobs in private sector exclusively for youths from the state. The entire government’s education and health system would be revamped in Haryana,” she added.
