Hideout unearthed in Kishtwar, overground worker of Hizbul arrested

JAMMU : An over ground worker (OGW) of terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen was arrested after security forces unearthed a hideout in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Tuesday.

A cache of arms and ammunition, including Pakistan-make 7.63mm pistol with a magazine, a Chinese grenade and 52 rounds of ammunition, were recovered from the hideout which was unearthed during a joint search operation by Rashtriya Rifles and Jammu and Kashmir police’s special operations group (SOG) in Sangram Bhatta area of the district on Monday, the officials said.

Police said Asif Mustafa, 30, was working as an OGW for the terror group Hizbul Mujahideen.

Acting on an intelligen­ce input, the team raided the house of Mustafa, arrested him and recovered the incriminat­ing materials. Other material recovered from the hideout inside Mustafa’s house included two AK magazines, a radio set with antenna and a letter pad with stamp of Hizbul Mujahideen district commander, the officials said.

A case has been registered against the OGW who is being questioned, they added.
