BANKS HARASSING PENSIONERS

For government pensioners, signing in the presence of bank officials is considered a valid proof of their being alive. Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) pensioners are considered alive only if their fingerprints match those recorded in their Aadhaar card. Why bank branches that have pension accounts are not equipped with gadgets to carry out the verification?
