‘Cops implicated me at Grover’s behest’
ROHTAK: Meham independent legislator Balraj Kundu on Friday alleged that police had implicated him and his brother Shiv Raj Kundu in a false cheating case at the behest of former minister of state for cooperatives Manish Grover.
Kundu, who had been accusing Grover of corruption, released the audio of a telephonic conversation purportedly with Rohtak deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Gorakh Pal Rana, in which the DSP can be heard saying that they cancelled the case against him (Kundu) and no action is required in it.
“The DSP had assured me that they had cancelled the FIR but a few days later, a false FIR was registered against me in the same case. This clearly shows that the FIR was registered against me due to political pressure and Grover was responsible for the same,” he added. DSP (headquarters) Gorakh Pal Rana could not be reached for clarification on the audio released by Kundu.
Kundu, meanwhile, further accused Grover of allotting development projects to the companies registered in the name of his son and daughter-in-law. “Grover is neck-deep in corruption. He violated all rules and regulations while allotting project works to his favourite contractors. He made large scale irregularities in sugar mills when he was minister in the previous

EX-MINISTER REMAINS TIGHT-LIPPED
Grover, on the other hand, remained tight-lipped on Kundu’s allegations.
During a press conference in Rohtak on Friday, when reporters asked him about the corruption allegations levelled by Kundu, Grover said, “I will not say a single word on Meham MLA Balraj Kundu’s allegations. Whatever you (reporters) want to publish or run on TV, you are free to do. I will not speak on this topic.”
