Missing Panipat kids: Will push for CBI probe, says Vij
CHANDIGARH: Haryana home minister Anil Vij on Wednesday told the assembly that a request for handing over investigation in two cases of missing children from Panipat district to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was under consideration of the state government.
The home minister who was responding to a question on missing children from Panipat asked by Parmod Kumar Vij, BJP MLA from Panipat City, said that number of missing children in Panipat district witnessed a rise from 229 in 2015 to 430 in 2018.
The number though came down to 379 in 2019.
The minister said that most of these missing kids were traced by the police.
“About 85% in 2015 and about 74 % missing kids in 2019 were reunited with their parents,’’ he said.
In the first two months of this year, about 49 children were reported missing from Panipat and only 16 were traced, he said.
Replying on behalf of chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, state transport minister Mool Chand Sharma informed the house that 970 unauthorised colonies in the state were detected by the authorities from January 2014 to 2020. Sharma who was responding a question by Conple gress MLA, BB Batra said that 428 FIRS were registered in the matter of unauthorised colonies.
Batra, however, remained dissatisfied with the reply and asked how such a huge number of unauthorised settlements came up, who gave the patronage and why the officers did nothing to check their mushrooming.
The minister said awareness levels of consumers have increased significantly and peo
are now avoiding investing in unauthorised colonies.
In reply to a question from JJP MLA, Jogi Ram Sihag, co-operation minister, Banwari Lal said that 25 % of total production of mustard seed will be procured under the price support scheme of the Union government on behalf of National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) and the remaining quantity of mustard seed will be procured on behalf of the state government.
Lal said that Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board has made arrangements for smooth and hassle-free procurement of mustard seed. Besides, arrangements for packing material, storage space, and funds, Iabour, and transportation and so on are being made by the HAFED and Haryana State Warehousing Corporation (HSWC) for smooth procurement of mustard seed from the farmers. He said that about 3.86 lakh farmers were registered on ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ web portal for mustard seed crop for Rabi 2020 – 21.
The coverage area of mustard is 17.20 lakh acres.
He said that the payments against the procurement of mustard seed will be directly credited in the bank accounts of the farmers through RTGS / NEFT through the e-kharid portal.
