MIGRANTS NEED WORK, NOT SYMPATHY

-

The state and Centre are offering sympathy to the poor migrant labour. However, their sympathy is neither helping them emotionally nor economically. Punjab and other states facilitated transportation of migrants to their respective home states in fully paid-up trips through trains or buses just to appease the labourers who have lost their source of income. The governments should have counselled the migrants to stay back as economic activity was going to resume soon.

Sanjay Chopra, Mohali the chief secretary issue is unfortunate. The state is faced with the dual challenges of Covid-19 and economic meltdown as such the CM and ministers cannot afford the luxury of massaging their egos.
