KEEP FIRST AID READY
Everyone must keep a strip of paracetamol tablets handy. Contrary to popular opinion, advanced paracetamol can come in handy not only when suffering from fever.
More than two months into the lockdown and the Covid-19 crisis in India, the top priority has been taking care of one’s health and fitness. And HT City has started an initiative, HT City Spotlight, to highlight key lifestyle sectors such as food, health, wellness, fashion, movies and more. The first segment of Spotlight was focused on wellness, and the first topic addressed was taking care of the elderly.
Since this age group (65 years and above) is the most vulnerable, our week-long coverage included talking to celebs on their worries about staying away from their parents. We also spoke to experts about the anxiety and loneliness faced by senior citizens, and they suggested staying in touch via video calls or holding balcony meets. For their weak immunity, experts gave tips about the dietary needs of the elderly. We also had Dr SS Bansal (senior interventional cardiologist and managing director, Metro Heart Institute with Multispeciality, Faridabad) address the concerns about Covid-19 affecting heart patients.
The highlight of the first segment of Spotlight were two webinarswith celebs and doctors.worried about the health of her grandmother (83) and mother (63), actor Nushrat Bharucha shared, “I haven’t allowed them to step out and my daadi isn’t even allowed to open the door. I have this instinctive fear for them...” Also part of the webinar, the father-son duo, actors Suresh and Vivek Oberoi stressed on the need for spiritual calmness in the time of crisis. The sessions led to some great insights for our viewers, who watched it live on the Facebook and Twitter handles of Hindustan Times.
