177 stranded Indians brought back from UAE via spl flight

MOHALI: Repatriating the stranded Indians abroad amid Covid-19 outbreak, Spice Jet’s evacuation flight from Ras Al Khaimah in United Arab Emirates (UAE) reached Chandigarh International Airport with 177 passengers on Wednesday.
The flights are operational under the Vande Bharat Mission of evacuation of stranded Indians from different countries.
On Wednesday, SPS Oberoi, who is chairman of Sarbat Da Bhala Trust and a Dubai based businessman, paid for tickets for around 50 passengers, including those laid off from their companies or poor families stuck in Dubai.
All repatriated people, most belonging to different parts of Punjab and nearby states, will reach their districts under the supervision of their respective state government representatives and will be quarantined as per government guidelines.
