In Bathinda, Jojo calls the shots
From Corona Fateh kits’ distribution to fixing retail rates of fruits and vegetables, finance minister Manpreet Badal’s brother-in-law Jaijeet Johal holds the key in Bathinda. Better known as Jojo, the all-powerful relative overshadows the Congress leadership in the assembly segment and has been meeting the district authorities and taking an active part in shaping policies. When traders wanted that Covid-19 restrictions on non-essential shops be lifted, they got relaxation only after Johal intervened. He has also been distributing special medical aid kits to Covid patients. Johal had jumped on the Congress bandwagon with Manpreet five years ago.
