Much hoopla around fund transfer to farmers

It’s a welcome step that Rs 6,000 is transferred in three instalments every year to the accounts of each small and marginal farmer under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna even as it is a meagre amount. But why there is so much hoopla when the instalments are paid every time? There is no such publicity when concessions are given to the corporate sector such as reduction in corporate taxes or writing off non-performing assets (NPAS) of banks worth crores of rupees.
