SC COMMISSION SUMMONS TOP PUNJAB OFFICERS

CHANDIGARH: National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) chairman Vijay Sampla on Friday summoned the chief secretary and two other officers of Punjab on June 17 in connection with hardships being faced by SC students under the postmatric scholarship scheme.

The NCSC chairman summoned the CS and principal secretaries of social justice, empowerment and minorities as well as higher education departments after its three notices on the issue went unanswered. The notices were sent on May 25, June 7 and June 10, but did not elicit any response.

The three officers have been asked to appear in person before the chairman along with an up-to-date action taken report and all relevant documents.
