SLAIN GANGSTER’S WIFE ALLOWED TO ATTEND FUNERAL

MOHALI: A Mohali court on Friday allowed the wife of slain gangster Jaspreet Singh to attend his cremation.

Lovepreet Kaur, who was arrested last month for harbouring criminals, is presently lodged in the Ropar jail and had moved an application to release her for a day to attend Jaspreet’s last rites.

Jaspreet was gunned down along with notorious gangster Jaipal Bhullar in an encounter in Kolkata on June 9. The duo was wanted for the murder of two Punjab cops in Jagraon.

The court directed the station house officer, Sohana, Mohali, to arrange “at his responsibility” security to take Lovepreet in police custody from jail to the cremation ground and then back after the funeral.
