Suitcase stuffed with man’s body found at Jalandhar rly station
JALANDHAR: The body of a man, who appeared to be in his early 30s, was recovered from a suitcase outside Jalandhar City railway station on Tuesday.
ACP Om Prakash of GRP said: “We reached the spot as soon as we received information regarding the body of a man being found in a red suitcase near the bushes just outside Jalandhar city railway station.”
“Forensic teams and a dog squad have started their investigation,” he added. “Our teams are scrutinising the CCTV footage, which shows a man in his mid-30s dropping the suitcase and heading towards the ticket counter,” he said.
An FIR under IPC sections 302, 201, and 34 has been registered, while process to identify the victim is underway, the cop said. The cause of death would be ascertained through the autopsy report, which is awaited, he added.
