UNION MINISTER BLAMES VICTIM FOR HER MURDER, DRAWS FLAK
NEW DELHI: Union minister Kaushal Kishore on Thursday claimed live-in relationships are “giving rise to crime” and suggested that “educated girls” should not get into such relationships, prompting Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi to demand his resignation.
“Why are they living in live-in relationships? If they have to do so, there should be proper registration for live-in relationships. If parents do not approve such relationships, you should have a court marriage and then live together,” said Kishore, while referring to the Shraddha Walkar murder case.
“Educated girls should not get into such relationships,” he told News18 TV channel.
In response, Chaturvedi urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sack Kishore immediately from the Council of Ministers for his “blame-the-women” remark, which she described as “heartless and cruel”.
