3 hybrid militants arrested with 3 rifles in Srinagar
SRINAGAR : The J&K Police and the Rashtriya Rifles arrested three hybrid militants with a huge consignment of arms and ammunition on Sunday.
The security forces recovered three AK rifles, two pistols, nine magazines and 200 rounds, from the outskirts of Srinagar.
Arms recovered from Kupwara
On Saturday night, arms and ammunition were also recovered from a house in the northern district of Kupwara.
“On a specific input regarding presence of illegal arms and ammunition in the residential house of one Rafaqat Hussain Shah, a resident of Panjtaran Karnah area of Kupwara, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by the police and army,” the police spokesperson said.
“During the search operation, a cache of arms and ammunition including a pistol, two pistol magazines, 16 pistol rounds, two hand grenades, two detonators and other incriminating materials were recovered from the said house,” the spokesperson said.
A case under relevant sections has been registered.
