USG LEVEL 2 SCAN

FEROZEPUR : A Fazilka-based radiologist has been booked by police on Wednesday under the pre-natal diagnostic act and 116 of the IPC for giving a false report after an Ultrasound Sonography (USG) Second Trimester Screening (Level 2 Scan). The scan is aimed primarily to assess fetal anatomy and detect any anomalies. In a complaint, Arun Kukkar of Fazilka alleged that his wife Neha (30) got the level 2 scan done by Kshitij Dhuria at his diagnostic centre on July 19. Kukkar said, the report of the scan mentioned that “All four limbs visualized are grossly normal.” On November 12, Neha gave birth to a female child whose left arm was underdeveloped. “Had it been noticed, the pregnancy could have been terminated legally,” Kukkar said. Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, SSP, Fazilka, said that a case under section 116 of the IPC besides sections 22 and 23 of the PC and PNDT Act was registered against Dhuria.
