Takht doors shut for Giani Ranjit Singh

-

A day after being “excommunicated” by Panj Pyaras (five beloved ones of Guru) of Takht Patna Sahib for being found “guilty” in graft charges and forcibly taking back charge as Takht jathedar with the help of security provided by the Centre, Giani Ranjit Singh turned up at the Akal Takht secretariat during a meeting of Sikh clergy on Saturday. However, the doors were shut for him. He kept standing before the door for 15 minutes but was not allowed inside. Left red-faced, he sat on the sitting table placed outside. Then, the Akal Takht jathedar’s personal assistant came out and met him to receive documents related to graft charges. There was a time when he was part of the Sikh clergy and attended meetings. The BJP leadership has failed to help him in securing his post.
