With just 4,982 active cases, the number of people who are currently carrying the virus is also down to record lows, and do not appear to be rising again (see chart). Tracking active cases gives a true value of the weight of the pandemic in the country as this is the number that tends to reflect in hospitalisations, ICU admission, and later deaths
