Poll freebies: PM Modi should walk the talk

Only a few months ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked political parties for announcing freebies for electoral gains. But now his party, the BJP, has made promises such as free electric two-wheelers and one litre of edible oil four times a year in its election manifesto in Gujarat. This is nothing short of freebies to lure voters. One expects the PM to walk the talk. Only then can other parties be expected to shun freebies.
