Glorifying guns needs to be discouraged

This is with reference to FIRS registered in Punjab for promoting gun culture (HT, November 30). There have been instances of public display of weapons by artists that fire the imagination of youngsters to acquire similar weapons through legal or illegal ways. This is an unhealthy trend, which needs to be discouraged. Sowing the seed of violence creates insecurity and endangers law and order. The purpose of art is the opposite. Art is a powerful tool of expression and method to find objectivity to life. There is a need to act sensibly and live in harmony.
