Build awareness for first-time voters

-

To improve turnout, much depends on first-time voters and their awareness. But is the young electorate aware about the electoral process? There needs to be enthusiasm and initiative among citizens as each vote counts. After all, our representatives will legislate on the nation’s future. A good turnout is vital. Voting is a privilege and not merely an obligation.

Ludhiana excluded from quota benefits? Rahul Gandhi’s pledge to extend reservation beyond 50% is detrimental to democracy, as it risks driving many brilliant minds abroad in search of opportunities. Political parties must grasp that exploiting the needs of ordinary citizens does not qualify them as effective leaders. The reservation system should be dismantled, allowing talented individuals to succeed based on merit. It’s imperative to address this issue to ensure equality for all.

Parth Singhal airfares are soaring and profitability is high, but passengers are increasingly frustrated. This is the second time since April that a Tata Group airline inconvenienced passengers because of internal problems. Tata is in the process of merging airlines in its umbrella and that’s a business call and its prerogative. But when such decisions affect passengers, it reflects poorly on the way the process is being managed. Close to 90% of the domestic aviation market in the January-march quarter was catered by Indigo and Tata’s airlines. It’s a market with not enough competition. DGCA needs to press upon airlines to ensure that their internal issues don’t result in harassment to passengers.
