WRITES TO GUJARAT CM ASKING IF HE WILL GIVE MUKESH AMBANI HIGH GAS PRICE IF HE COMES TO POWER. PLANS TO WRITE TO RAHUL NEXT

NEW DELHI: Former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has written to BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, alleging that the Gujarat government favoured Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, and asked Modi to make his stand on gas pricing clear. He also asked for Modi’s poll campaign expense details.

Making the contents of his open letter to Modi public on Friday, Kejriwal said he will write a similar letter to Congress vicepresident Rahul Gandhi.

Kejriwal has repeatedly attacked the Congress and the BJP over alleged links with Ambani, even blaming them for coming together to thwart the janlokpal bill in the Delhi assembly to protect the business tycoon.

“The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government filed an FIR against Mukesh Ambani on allegations that some ministers at the Centre lobbied to increase gas prices to enable Ambani to earn substantial profit. Both Modi and Rahul Gandhi need to break their silence on it,” Kejriwal said on Friday.

According to the AAP, the government pays Reliance four dollars per unit of gas while the actual cost is about one dollar. The party says the price will rise to eight dollars per unit from April, pushing up prices of CNG, fertilizers and electricity among others. In his letter, Kejriwal asked Modi if he will pay eight dollars per unit of gas.

The AAP chief also questioned both Modi and Gandhi on their frequent use of helicopters and private jets. “Who owns these helicopters and planes? Do you use them for free or pay for them?” Kejriwal asked.
