‘Financial package for Seemandhra is fairly reasonable’

NEW DELHI: The BJP on Friday patted its back for keeping its commitment to support a separate Telangana state while having succeeded to get maximum relief for Seemandhara region.

“The balance of power was with the BJP. We decided to lead in favour of Telangana, which has been our long-standing demand,” BJP leader Arun Jaitley wrote in a blog. “This (financial and others) package is fairly reasonable and would substantially look after interests of Seemandhra,” he wrote. He added that if any further demand needed to be pursued, “the BJP would play a positive role in facilitating it”.

The BJP leader accused Congress of delaying the Telangana decision and argued that the issues of division should have been handled more carefully.
