Prabir Jha, @PrabirJha I have been fortunate to be able to observe closely and work with some incredible leaders and professionals, both in my personal and professional life. Over the years, these people have inspired my growth as an individual and professional.
So, my first learning is to keep an eye out for opportunitiesand be open to perspectives, feedback and learning.
The first month of my corporate job, after completing my master’s programme, remains fresh in my memory. One of the instances I remember is about a colleague who showed me his down-sized pay slip for the month and explained the reason behind it. He had apparently not filed his travel expenses!
Another learning experience involved a flight that I was to take with my manager, that I almost missed. On hindsight, I wish I had planned better. I have come to understand that there are three keys to learning and growing as a professional - conscientiousness, execution excellence and discipline. It’s always best to focus on the simple everyday things, as a grounding in basics lays the foundation for your future.
