Sreesanth innocent: Vindoo in TV sting
MUMBAI: Controversial Bollywood personality, Vindoo Dara Singh, has made some more revelations on the betting and fixing scandal in the Indian Premier League during a sting operation carried out by a Zee News reporter.
Vindoo, who is the central figure in the IPL betting case investigated by the Mumbai Police, said a couple of more teams were involved in betting and fixing. He also cast aspersions on a star India player.
WRONGLY INDICTED However, he said former India pacer Sreesanth was wrongly indicted in the scandal and banned by the BCCI.
“All these allegations against Sreesanth are rubbish, fraud; I will say he is 100 per cent not guilty,” Vindoo was seen as saying.
The TV channel and website, however, ran a disclaimer with the news: “It neither subscribes nor takes responsibility for the authenticity of the claims made in the conversation.”
Justice Mukul Mudgal, who headed the Supreme Courtappointed committee investigating into cricket fixing, told in an interview to the same news channel that there should be coordination between police, the anti-corruption unit and the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India).
GOOD INVESTIGATION “The Mumbai and Delhi Police have done very good investigation,” said Mudgal.
Calling himself a cricket lover, Mugdal called for fans to keep faith in the game, saying the sport shouldn’t suffer due to the actions of a couple of individuals.
Mudgal said he would be watching the seventh Indian Premier League, though he admitted, “Some doubt will be there (in his mind). Everyone will have it.”
