Kaptan Singh Solanki sworn in as Haryana governor today

CHANDIGARH: Rajya Sabha MP from Madhya Pradesh Kaptan Singh Solanki will be sworn in as the 16th Haryana governor on Sunday. Solanki, who succeeds Jagannath Pahadia, will be administered oath of office and secrecy by justice Ashutosh Mohunta of the Punjab and Haryana high court. Solanki takes over at a time when Haryana, Punjab and the Centre are locked in a war of words over the legislation for establishing a separate Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee for Haryana. The manner in which he handles the Centre’s directive on the legislation will be keenly watched.
