PM MODI PITCHES FOR MOBILE-GOVERNANCE
NEW DELHI: In his series of tweets to connect with the 18th national conference on e-governance, PM Narendra Modi laid the road map for the future of e-governance and sought a mobile-first approach. Modi said, “While we look at e-governance, let us think about mobile first and give importance to m-governance.” The PM asked for more apps to deliver services to the common man. “I urge you to explore ways to provide services through mobiles. Let us bring the world into our mobiles,” his tweet read. NEW DELHI: The environment ministry will review projects that were approved or held back by the previous United Progressive Alliance government without a valid reason, environment minister Prakash Javadekar said on Friday.
His comments came after former environment minister Jayanthi Natarajan said she was under pressure from Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s office to stall major infrastructure projects when she was minister.
Javadekar described Natarajan’s charge as a “serious issue” and said he would review the files where allegations of extraneous influence had been mentioned.
“The revelations made by Jayanthi Natarajan in her letter to Sonia Gandhi, which have become public today, are a matter of great concern and is a serious issue,” the minister said in Pune. “I will review the files and review the facts.”
Earlier, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley urged the environment ministry to review the projects considered during the UPA’s tenure.
