CJM students excel at Young Economist Summit
Students of the Convent of Jesus and Mary, Bangla Sahib Marg were declared winners at the Young Economist Summit. They were awarded a glittering trophy by Sindhusree Khullar, CEO of Niti Aayog. The competition was organised by the Economics Society of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) and was held in two stages. The first round was a scrabble competition with a twist - where economic terms and jargons were used.
The second round was press conference where the competitors were to act as heads of governments dealing with a hypothetical crisis and addressing press conferences and issuing statements.
The Indian Orthodontic Society celebrated its Golden jubilee year and as part of the celebration a Golden Smile Torch travelled all over India to create awareness about Orthodontics and its advantages. As a part of the celebration, the smile torch reached Modern School, Barakhamba Road and was received by Principal Vijay Datta, who stressed on the importance of dental health.
Neena Moitra, an eminent orthodontist, gave a presentation regarding braces at the occasion. Students later participated in poster making competition titled “Braces Are Beautiful” and were later awarded prizes.
Richmondd Global School, Paschim Vihar, held a video conference with students from Egypt, Ukraine and Italy.
The conference began with an ice-breaker round throwing light on individual perspective about civil rights and their impact on everyday life.
This partnership was established through Tony Blair’s Face to Faith Foundation, UK. The interaction became interesting, when students exchanged their ideas about the observance and the challenges being faced in some civil rights in their own countries.
They also expressed their desire to contribute whole heartedly for their school and community.
Apeejay School, Pitampura celebrated its Annual Appreciation Day. The event was graced by KK Chaudhary, controller of examinations, CBSE and other distinguished members of the Apeejay Education Society.
Principal DK Bedi addressed the gathering and presented the school report, which gave a glimpse of the major events and achievements of the cradle. The highlight of the function was a play The Trial of Truth - a biographical account of the life of Greek Philosopher Socrates.
The school choir and orchestra enthralled the audience with their vibrant performances leaving them spellbound with their rich display of colour, music and dance.
