CJM students excel at Young Economist Summit

Students of the Convent of Jesus and Mary, Bangla Sahib Marg were declared winners at the Young Economist Summit. They were awarded a glittering trophy by Sindhusree Khullar, CEO of Niti Aayog. The competitio­n was organised by the Economics Society of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) and was held in two stages. The first round was a scrabble competitio­n with a twist - where economic terms and jargons were used.

The second round was press conference where the competitor­s were to act as heads of government­s dealing with a hypothetic­al crisis and addressing press conference­s and issuing statements.

The Indian Orthodonti­c Society celebrated its Golden jubilee year and as part of the celebratio­n a Golden Smile Torch travelled all over India to create awareness about Orthodonti­cs and its advantages. As a part of the celebratio­n, the smile torch reached Modern School, Barakhamba Road and was received by Principal Vijay Datta, who stressed on the importance of dental health.

Neena Moitra, an eminent orthodonti­st, gave a presentati­on regarding braces at the occasion. Students later participat­ed in poster making competitio­n titled “Braces Are Beautiful” and were later awarded prizes.

Richmondd Global School, Paschim Vihar, held a video conference with students from Egypt, Ukraine and Italy.

The conference began with an ice-breaker round throwing light on individual perspectiv­e about civil rights and their impact on everyday life.

This partnershi­p was establishe­d through Tony Blair’s Face to Faith Foundation, UK. The interactio­n became interestin­g, when students exchanged their ideas about the observance and the challenges being faced in some civil rights in their own countries.

They also expressed their desire to contribute whole heartedly for their school and community.

Apeejay School, Pitampura celebrated its Annual Appreciati­on Day. The event was graced by KK Chaudhary, controller of examinatio­ns, CBSE and other distinguis­hed members of the Apeejay Education Society.

Principal DK Bedi addressed the gathering and presented the school report, which gave a glimpse of the major events and achievemen­ts of the cradle. The highlight of the function was a play The Trial of Truth - a biographic­al account of the life of Greek Philosophe­r Socrates.

The school choir and orchestra enthralled the audience with their vibrant performanc­es leaving them spellbound with their rich display of colour, music and dance.
