KARACHI: Angry with their team’s defeat at the hands of arch-rival India, Pakistani fans came out on the streets here and smashed their TV sets to express disappointment.

A Pakistani TV channel showed visuals of people taking to streets with TV sets and smashing them to pieces to show their anger at the Pakistan team’s showing.

UMAR AS KEEPER WAS A MISTAKE: IMRAN KARACHI: Legendary Pakistan all-rounder Imran Khan said the move to play part-time wicketkeeper Umar Akmal was a mistake.

“I always believed in having specialist players and I think playing Umar as a keeper was a mistake and it cost us,” he said.

Akmal dropped Kohli to allow the Indian to race to his 22nd ODI hundred and set up a big total for India.

BE STERN WITH PLAYERS, AKHTAR TELLS MISBAH KARACHI: Pakistan’s former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has advised captain Misbah-ul-Haq to become more stern and be strong with the players if the team harbours hopes of doing well in the cricket World Cup.

“I am totally disappointed at the way some of our batsmen played rash strokes and got out. I think Misbah has to shed some of his humbleness and calmness and deal with such players strongly,” Akhtar said on Geo News.

RESULT: INDIA WON BY 76 RUNS Team India has a new fan! And it’s the 17-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer (right). Maybe it could only be a marketing exercise, but on Sunday, the tennis ace posted a photograph of him holding the Indian jersey on his Facebook page. While Federer’s Indian fans were delighted, the picture did not go down well with his Pakistan supporters. Some called him “Frauderer”, while one wrote, “And suddenly Pakistanis become Nadal fans.”
