SC to hear plea against land acquisition on Monday

NEW DELHI: The Supreme

Court on Friday agreed for an early hearing of a PIL against the Modi government’s decision to re-promulgate the land acquisition ordinance. A bench headed by Chief Justice HL Dattu fixed April 13 after former ASG Indira Jaisingh requested for an early hearing. Jaisingh is representing the farmers bodies that have moved the SC against the government saying re-promulgation of the ordinance was an abuse of power under the Constitution.
