VAN PERSIE NOT FIT FOR DERBY: VAN GAAL

MANCHESTER: Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has failed in his bid to be fit for Sunday’s derby against Manchester City, manager Louis van Gaal said on Friday. The Netherlands international has returned to training after suffering an ankle injury. “Van Persie is not fit enough to play,” the Dutchman said. “I don’t think Luke Shaw is fit enough to play. But I cannot say they are not fit. In my opinion, they are not fit to play.”
