DTC bus parking further aggravates traffic mess

One factor further contributing to the traffic mess in south Delhi is parking of Orange DTC buses on this road. At most times 5-6 such buses (route#623) are kept parked there. When asked why not use the Vasant Vihar bus depot nearby (less than 1km away) they said they were not permitted to as they were under a private contract from DTC. I was given this response also by the Traffic police and the VV bus depot staff.

VANDANA BHATNAGAR A Block market is a very busy stretch, and also the main entrance to Amrit Puri. This stretch is in a very bad shape. The road is broken with many potholes. The sewer keeps over-flowing. There are frequent accidents involving old, men women and children.
