THE BJP MP SAID IF SOMEBODY BEHAVES IN A CERTAIN WAY, HE HAS TO BE PAID BACK IN THE SAME WAY

BHUBANESWAR: Controversial BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj on Saturday justified assault on independent Jammu and Kashmir MLA Engineer Rashid by a group of BJP MLAs inside the assembly saying every action had an equal and opposite reaction.

Maharaj, who came here to attend a function by a Hindu outfit, said that everybody noticed that the MLA was beaten up but nobody bothered to take a look at what nasty game he played before that. “If he had to consume beef, he could have done it in the confines of a hotel room. (By organising a beef party) He deliberately tried to hurt and provoke the sentiments of Hindus. He tried to provoke the BJP MLA (Ravinder Raina), who is a real son of the motherland and worshipper of cow and the latter could not tolerate anymore and reacted,” the five-time BJP MP from Uttar Pradesh said.

Maharaj said if somebody behaves in a certain way, he has to be paid back in the same way.

Rashid was beaten up by BJP MLAs inside the Jammu and Kashmir assembly on October 8 for hosting a “beef party”.

Also referring to RJD chief Laloo Prasad Yadav’s comment that Hindus too consume beef, Maharaj said that the political leaders of the country have either to change their ways or get beaten up publicly.

Defending Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s reported comment that Muslims have to give up beef if they have to stay in the country (he has since denied it), Maharaj said: “Many Muslim scholars have also said that no one should kill cows and consume beef. Even in the time of Mughal emperors Akbar and Aurangzeb, there was prohibition of cow slaughter. So the heavens have not crashed down, if Khattar says the same thing.”
