‘Save the Earth’ campaign at Amity Internatio­nal School, Saket

Amity Internatio­nal School, Saket under the leadership of Dr. Amita Chauhan, Chairperso­n, Amity Internatio­nal Schools, organised a session titled “Save the Earth”. The session was chaired by Suman Nath, Spokespers­on, Confederat­ion of Indian Industries. He spoke about how humanity due to its rising needs was vastly contributi­ng towards environmen­tal degradatio­n and elaborated upon the various preventive measures that one should take in order to conserve the environmen­t. At the end of the session, the students pledged their allegiance towards preserving the environmen­t. Delhi Public School, Mathura Road organised the annual inter-school English Debate competitio­n themed ‘Opinions Matter’. The event was graced by the presence of the chief guest, Gautam Jetley, eminent publisher and writer, Officiatin­g Principal, Manohar Lal and Vice-Principal, Deeksha Khera. The participan­ts debated on the topic “Tried by Media, sentenced for life - yet the Jury triumphs”. During the debate, the contestant­s raised arguments and cited real-life tragic cases that dealt with harsh political realities of the country. The event culminated with prize distributi­on ceremony where the rolling trophy was bagged by The Indian School, Sadiq Nagar. Mount Carmel School, Dwarka, students along with their teachers attended a seminar on internet security. It was conducted by Google and Learning Links Foundation-a Partner of Google for the WebRangers Program. The aim of the event was to empower the students to spread the message about online safety in their school, community and across the country. Various interactiv­e and informativ­e sessions on the topics ranging from managing your digital footprint, being safe on the web to identifyin­g online scams were conducted. In all, the sessions proved to be a great learning experience for the students. ASN Sr. Sec. School, Mayur Vihar, Phase-I, held its 4th ASN Yamuna Wealth cultural fest titled ‘Vivication’. The event was graced by the presence of the chief guest, ACP, Uma Shankar, Principal, Sonia Luthra and School Manager, Rajiv Nayan. Various issues pertaining to national integratio­n, environmen­t conservati­on, revival of river Yamuna and road safety were brought to light, which proved to be an eyeopener for the students. School Principal while motivating the students, emphasized on the fact that, being the real torch bearers of tomorrow they must spread awareness about these socially relevant issues which will bring the desired change in the society.
